95 gap and positive exposure, well, this razor is not messing around!īut please note, as I had to learn myself, this razor requires excellent technique, so if your somebody who is still a beginner to traditional wet shaving, and you haven't learned proper technique, then this razor is not for you. Despite being a standard bar and not open comb, I found that the TI95, is capable of providing me a 2 to 3 day whisker shave no problem. What sets the Timeless TI95 razor apart for me, is its just as efficient as my Rex Ambassador, but its also a smooth shaver as well. Having said that however, it provided some rough shaves too, I guess thats what I get for bringing T-Rex to my face lol. I can tell you right now, the Rex was most certainly efficient, especially since its an adjustable. Previous to getting this razor, I was using a stainless steel Rex Ambassador razor. And I can tell you right now, there's nothing like the feel of titanium alloy on your face, its hard to describe, which is why other's need to experience it for themselves. I also ordered a Parker Variant to have a modern adjustable but have yet to try it out - so there is a little RAD in my mistercindy - I had one question, just from the pics of the Timeless, the razor head looks bulky to me particularly compared to other razors (save a Merkur Futur or something similar). The Timeless TI95, is my only truly high end razor. (My normal is the ATT M2, Gillette 7OC sharp edge, Razorock plissoft, Proraso Red soap or ES natural shave cream, Thayers WH, Fine AS, and ES balm - although I travel a lot so that's usually when I use my other razors/blades.

I have a variety of razors as I like to try different products, but like you and jcs266 I I find myself usually sticking with one razor, couple of soaps, and same aftershave/post shave routine.

I went the other route and got an ATT razor, but frankly probably would have been easily satisfied with either. Timeless appears to be a quality razor with lots of positive review. Its a superb razor that ought to last a lifetime. My only quibble is that I'd like the barber pole design on the handle, but its only available on their 100 mm handle, but that is truly a quibble. The handle is good looking and makes for a sturdy grip. I love the look of the scalloped head with the open comb. The 85 mm handle, which is just a bit longer than the 34C’s handle, is perfect for me.Īs far as appearance, the razor is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I've now had my Timeless for six weeks, and I've used it with several different blades (Kai, Feather, Gillette Silver Blue, and Astra SP) and soaps (B&M, MWF, and DR Harris) and the razor has been great. It took a half dozen shaves or so to dial the razor in. Over the next few shaves I realized that, with my 34C, I had developed the bad habit of pressing the razor to my face, so I made a concerted effort to simply let the razor glide with minimal or no pressure, and that took care of the raw neck issue. I still required three passes as with my 34C, and all was well except for a rawness on my neck that I’d never experienced with the 34C. But my first shave, with a new Kai blade, gave me a fine shave with no cuts or weepers. I definitely feel more razor compared to the 34C, and was certainly aware of the fact that I'd pay more for sloppiness than I would with my 34C. I took Matt's advice and took it slow, particularly for the first few shaves. Its a beautiful razor, and I love the matte finish. Based in no small measure measure to Matt's quick response (customer service is a big deal with me), I went with Timeless. 95 wasn't too aggressive, but that he tends to go slow just to be careful. 95 might be too aggressive compared to my 34C. I emailed Timeless about my concern that the. I'd been shopping for a stainless steel razor with more aggressiveness to replace my Merkur 34C, which was my first and only DE razor for about a year. 95 open comb, scalloped head, with the shorter 85 mm handle, and a stand, all in the matte finish. Let me start by saying that I am not a razor collector.
